Transit News

Over the past two weeks we've been inundated with bad news for transit in Toronto, including major cuts to provincial transit funding and an upheaval of our city's transit plans. But there was some good news brought to us by City Council last week: The King Street Pilot is here to stay!

Things have been quiet on the King Street Pilot front so far this year... but that is about to change!

A final report from the City about the pilot is set to come out next week and will include an evaluation of the project's success and recommendations on how to move forward. The report will be presented to City Council's Executive Committee and the TTC Board before going to City Council for a vote.

Residents in “S-O-S” formation at City Hall will urge Tory to “Save Our Subway”

Toronto, ON (March 21st, 2019) – Transit advocacy group TTCriders and supporters will stand in formation to spell out “S-O-S” at City Hall before the Executive Committee meeting on Thursday March 21st. Advocates and residents will call on the Mayor and Executive Committee to launch a public information campaign and robust consultations about the province’s subway takeover plan.
