Tokens will be phased out by the end of 2019 and the Fair Fare Coalition is concerned that the paper Presto tickets that will replace them will cause more barriers to accessing transit. This is our chance to ask the TTC and Metrolinx about their plans and raise questions and concerns.

Last Monday, November 5th we hosted a twitter chat that was all about the King
Street Pilot Project. Through this chat we aimed to gain a better
understanding of how people have been experiencing King Street since
Codi Wilson of CP24 shares the progress of the King Street pilot project as it has been on the roads for one year. TTCriders member, Anna Lermer, shares that the project hasn't only benefited current riders, but has also brought new riders to public transit.
Philip Lee-Shanok of CBC News discusses the fate of the King Street pilot project. Through a Twitter forum, TTCriders has found that the pilot project has made commutes more reliable.

Economic statement silent on promised transit funding
More than 100 municipalities expect to see increase in 2019
(Toronto, ON) November 15, 2018 — Today’s Provincial Fall Economic Statement did not reaffirm a commitment to increase provincial transit funding in 2019.
“Millions of transit riders across Ontario are counting on Premier Ford to deliver better transit starting in 2019,” said TTCriders Executive Director Shelagh Pizey-Allen. “Premier Ford must increase transit funding to cities and towns so transit riders see better, more affordable service.”

This open meeting is an opportunity to share your experience of the King Street Pilot, one year since its implementation in November 2017. We'll take a look at what the data shows about the pilot's success and engage in a facilitated discussion about the transit priority project's implementation and impact on our public space and day-to-day life.

We’ll be posing a series of questions about how people have experienced the transit priority project since it’s implementation last November. We will also be joined by some great special guests (TBA) who will add their perspective to the conversation and will be available to answer any questions directed their way.
OCAD University's Visual Analytics Lab is conducting a survey on the King Street Pilot as part of their iCITY research project in partnership the University of Toronto Transportation Research Institute (UTTRI). The survey takes 12-14 minutes to complete and is designed to gain an understanding people's experience of the King Street Pilot streetscape and what draws them to walk and spend time in the area.
