Fair Fare Coalition

The pandemic has changed the way we think about public services like the TTC. Transit doesn’t just get us from A to B, it is a lifeline that connects us to essential jobs, health care, and groceries.

It's more important than ever for transit riders to have a voice and share our vision. The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is creating a 5-year plan for transit fares. Without input from riders like you, the new plan won't reflect our needs.

On March 17, 2020 the City of Toronto quietly stopped processing new applications to the Fair Pass TTC discount program.* Some current Fair Pass holders have been unable to renew.

This is completely unacceptable! Especially during a pandemic, when people are relying on the TTC for essential trips to access medical care and food. This change has caused confusion regarding who is still eligible to receive discounted fares.

Do you receive OW or ODSP? Please complete our survey about the Fair Pass transit discount program before November 15th.

Information from this survey will be used to understand how well the City of Toronto Fair Pass Program is working. We will advocate for changes to the program and its implementation based on our findings. We will also advocate for what is necessary to ensure people, especially those living on low income, can afford to ride the TTC and can get where they need to go.

The transit Fair Fare Pass has arrived! After years of organizing by the Fair Fare Coalition, last week the City of Toronto officially launched transit discounts for people on Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Program. Single fares will cost $2 and monthly passes will cost $115.50 for people who qualify.
