Take action to stop the race to the bottom

Ridership is stagnating.  Fare hikes are coming.  Service could be cut.

The TTC is facing the worst budget crisis it's seen in decades. Our transit system needs $184 million just to maintain current service levels for next year, and City Hall is forcing the TTC to but their budget by another 2.6%.

Did your councillor vote to cut the TTC's budget?  Find out here.

Our transit crisis is entirely the fault of the Wynne Government, Mayor Tory, and our elected officials at City Hall refusing to fairly fund the TTC.  They are ignoring the needs of riders.  We must stop the race to the bottom to a crappy unreliable transit system that riders cannot afford to use.  We say no. You have a right to fast, frequent and affordable transit.

Let's take action.

  1. Did your councillor vote to cut the TTC's budget by 2.6?  Find out here, and then send a message to your elected official, Mayor Tory, and Premier Wynne calling on them to stop ignoring riders and fairly fund the TTC.
  2. Come to our "Race to the bottom" rally at noon at City Hall, 100 Queen St West, on Wed. Sep. 28 for more service and lower fares, including a low income pass, and two hour fare transfers. Wear running gear. We'll supply the race bibs and headbands. For more information about our work and how you can work with us to support us? Contact Jess at [email protected].
