On Saturday, May 7, 2022, 150 people rallied outside the Scarborough Civic Centre for better transit in Scarborough. With the Scarborough RT closing in 2023, transit users are calling for:

• stable transit operations funding for more bus service
• funding for free GO-TTC transfers, to unlock access to GO transit in Scarborough
• funding to extend the Eglinton East LRT to Malvern
• more bus lanes and transit priority

More than 1 bus per minute: Bus lanes needed for Scarborough RT replacement bus service

Toronto City Councillors on the TTC Board will vote April 14th, 2022 on how to replace the Scarborough RT when it closes in 2023. TTCriders supports the plan to transform the RT corridor into a busway, because it’s the fastest and most reliable replacement option and there is strong community support. But during the 2 years it takes to build the busway, transit priority measures like bus lanes are needed so the additional 70 buses per hour during peak periods don't get stuck in traffic.

Take action to keep the Fair Pass!

On March 17, 2020 the City of Toronto quietly stopped processing new applications to the Fair Pass TTC discount program.* Some current Fair Pass holders have been unable to renew.

This is completely unacceptable! Especially during a pandemic, when people are relying on the TTC for essential trips to access medical care and food. This change has caused confusion regarding who is still eligible to receive discounted fares.
