Transit group to host community forum on June 20, 2023 to hear from TTC users about their complaints and which candidate has the best transit plan
(Toronto, ON) – Transit advocacy organization TTCriders is hosting a transit election debate – without the candidates. The group will present a scorecard of candidate transit promises, then have a debate about which candidates have the best transit plans. The event will feature special guest Reece Martin, transit commentator and YouTube creator of the RMTransit channel.
“Toronto’s last Mayor cut service on more than 30 TTC routes. Transit users need change,” said event organizer and TTCriders volunteer Mackenzie Bartlett. The group will launch a scorecard the day before the debate so that transit users can see how candidates have promised to improve the TTC. “No candidates, no campaign spin: just community members airing their transit complaints and hopes, and debating which candidates have a realistic plan to fix them,” she said.
