Speak up for Public Transit at City Hall

On Monday May 30th at 9:30am the City's Planning and Growth Management Committee is meeting at City Hall in Committee Room #1. At this meeting Committee members will be discussing two very important public transit issues and we need people to speak up for more and better public transit!

Here are the agenda items:

PG 5.6) Improving Public Transit on Sheppard Ave East and,

PG 5.7) Improving Public Transit and Traffic Flow on Finch Avenue West

If you are interested in speaking up for better transit for Toronto this is a great opportunity!

The Mayor's Transportation City plan forgets all about Finch Ave West and proposes an unfunded subway gamble for Sheppard Ave.

We all know Toronto was on track to build Light Rail Transit for Torontonians along Finch and Sheppard Avenues; transit that was affordable, fully funded and wouldn't require hundreds of new skyscrapers to pay for it! These Light Rail Transit lines would have been built and operating by 2019.

If we don't act now Finch Ave will be forgotten and Sheppard Ave will be scammed!

Please join other TTCriders and speak up for better transit at this meeting!

To register to speak to the Planning and Growth Management Committee you must call 416-392-7340 or email [email protected] by Friday at noon.

*If you want to have your say, but can't make it in person, you can email your concerns to [email protected]. As long as you send in your comments by noon Friday they will be included with the Agenda at the meeting.

📸 Rally to Open the Crosstown

On February 19, 2025, TTCriders held the Rally to Open the Crosstown at Yonge and Eglinton to call for answers about the Eglinton Crosstown and Finch West LRT projects. Promised opening dates for the LRTs have come and gone, while transit costs have skyrocketed under Metrolinx. Transit riders are looking for answers and credible opening dates for the Eglinton Crosstown and Finch West LRTs.
TTCriders asked every party to invest in running TTC service and new LRTs with a 50% operating subsidy for local transit systems, and to give the TTC back control over running Toronto transit, to keep costs down and increase accountability.
