Donate so we can stop the race to the bottom

We have bad news. The TTC is

>facing a budget crisis. Our transit system needs $178 million just to maintain current service levels for next year, and City Hall just slapped the TTC with a 2.6 per cent budget cut. Read our Toronto Star op-ed about the budget crisis.

Fare hikes and service cuts are coming. Yes, we could be paying more for poorer service next year. Ridership is already dropping. This is only going to make it worse.

We say no. You have a right to fast, frequent and affordable transit.

Can you help us make sure City Council and the Wynne government fairly fund the TTC so we can get the great transit we deserve?

We have a strategic Fall campaign plan all ready to go.

  • We're organizing a "race to the bottom" fun run on Wed September 28 to call for more service and lower fares, including a low income pass, and two hour fare transfers.
  • We're going to talk to riders across the city about the need to organize and take action.  Check out one of our awesome postcards below.
  • We're about to launch a really fun social media campaign about the stupidity of cutting the TTC budget.

What you be interested in supporting us by giving a financial donation at this key time?

Your support right now will help us make sure our campaign is the best it can be. A $25 donation is a huge help.  You can donate online or by sending TTCriders a cheque to 720 Bathurst St, Toronto, ON, M5S 2R4.

📸 Rally to Open the Crosstown

On February 19, 2025, TTCriders held the Rally to Open the Crosstown at Yonge and Eglinton to call for answers about the Eglinton Crosstown and Finch West LRT projects. Promised opening dates for the LRTs have come and gone, while transit costs have skyrocketed under Metrolinx. Transit riders are looking for answers and credible opening dates for the Eglinton Crosstown and Finch West LRTs.
TTCriders asked every party to invest in running TTC service and new LRTs with a 50% operating subsidy for local transit systems, and to give the TTC back control over running Toronto transit, to keep costs down and increase accountability.
