Better bus service, coming Fall 2018!

In a win for riders of the #SufferinDufferin and bus routes all across the city, today the TTC Board approved new express bus service on 7 routes, and additional bus service. The new service will relieve peak and off-peak crowding and means that we will enjoy more frequent, reliable service starting in Fall 2018.

During the 2018 City Budget process, TTCriders advocated for more funding for the TTC so riders could have two-hour fares, better service, lower fares, and relief from overcrowding. $3 million in additional funding for the TTC was added during the budget process thanks to our advocacy, which is funding the additional bus service starting September 2018. The TTC "reallocated" an extra $2 million for service in 2018, and voted to annualize this new service.

Our organizing paid off. Want to win better TTC service and lower fares for transit riders? Join TTCriders and our fight for an affordable, world-class public transit system.

We have more work to do. The TTC's full Express Bus Network Study plan includes 12 express routes, and we need a quicker and more expansive rollout.

Read on below for a list of routes where you'll see improved service this Fall, or read the TTC's report.
