#OURsubway Day of Action

Thank you to all of the volunteers, leaders, and organizations who joined the February 22nd #OURSubway Day of Action to oppose the province's plan to steal our subway.

Fanned out across 35 subway and RT stations across the city from 8am until 9am, volunteers handed out tens of thousands of flyers to riders that explained why the plan to take ownership of the system should not go ahead. We sent a message to our MPPs loud and clear: Don't Steal Our Subway! Fund it instead.

"TTC transit users don't want to pay more to wait longer and be squeezed into crowded buses," says TTCriders board member, Kingsley Kwok. "We want the TTC to get more funding to improve its service and a provincial takeover of the subway system will just create chaos."

During the Day of Action, the hashtag #OurSubway trended in Canada and received positive media coverage.
