TTCriders a "Critical Friend" of the TTC

The Toronto Transit Commission meets on October 19th at 1:00pm in Committee Room # 2 in Toronto City Hall. Click here to review the agenda for their meeting.

Steve Munro, Toronto's expert TTC advocate, has published a preview of the TTC meeting which can be found on his blog.

While it's likely that most of the media's coverage of this meeting will focus on the controversial subject of random drug and alcohol testing of TTC employees,  it's great to note that TTCriders also find ourselves on the TTC's agenda!

As part of the TTC's Customer Service Update Chief Customer Service Officer, Chris Upfold mentions that the TTC is working to develop an improved working with the advocacy group “TTCriders” and that,

A closer working relationship is being developed with “TTCriders” in general allowing this advocacy group to act as a “critical friend” and further reflect the voice of the customer back to the TTC

This is a major step forward for our organization and it shows that our collective hard work has definitely been noticed. So now that we have their attention please continue to speak up for more and better transit!

Please Join Us on Tuesday October 25th at the North York Civic Centre for a TTCriders public meeting with special guest Chris Upfold. Please come and bring your questions, comments and advice for the TTC's Chief Customer Service Officer.

If you can't make it in person, email your questions for Mr. Upfold to [email protected] and we'll ask him at the meeting.

Do you still have TTC tokens or paper senior/student tickets or day passes? The TTC has announced that they will stop accepting TTC tokens and paper tickets after December 31, 2024. But the TTC will not be issuing exchanges. This is unfair to people who have saved up tokens and tickets, especially low-income seniors. Gift cards and permanent stamps never expire --  why are transit fares any different?
