TTCriders to deliver TTC Sardines Award to yet-to-be announced winner on Friday March 28

Join TTCriders and friends at 12.00pm on Friday March 28 as we deliver the TTC Sardines Award to a yet-t0-be-announced elected official who has failed to fix public transit.

Join us.  Meet us at 12.00pm on Friday March 28th at Queens Park subway station on the street level on the SW corner of College St. and University Ave. We will then travel in sardine costumes to deliver the award in person.  If you are travelling by TTC, make sure to take a transfer.

In February, TTCriders launched a photo competition calling on TTC users to send a photo of their overcrowded commute.  Our photo campaign was very popular: all major television stations reported on the campaign, and many TTC users submitted great photos of their sardine-like commute!  Thank you riders!

We chose four great photos and now we're converting the photos into a TTC Sardines Award.  See below for the awesome pics.

The TTC is now at breaking point due to record ridership levels and chronic underfunding.  All transit systems across North America get a much higher government subsidy per ride than Toronto does.

For immediate better service and lower fares, TTCriders is calling on the province to fund the TTC by at least $700 million a year.

All parties need to hear from you.   Send a message to all provincial political parties telling them that the TTC needs $700 million a year so riders can have more service and lower fares.

Letter & Survey: TTC must exchange expired tokens and tickets

Do you still have TTC tokens or paper senior/student tickets or day passes? The TTC has announced that they will stop accepting TTC tokens and paper tickets after December 31, 2024. But the TTC will not be issuing exchanges. This is unfair to people who have saved up tokens and tickets, especially low-income seniors. Gift cards and permanent stamps never expire --  why are transit fares any different?
