Stop TTC Cuts 101

On March 26th 2023 TTC service cuts approved in the 2023 city budget come into effect. This means waiting longer for your bus, streetcar or subway and a more crowded ride. These service cuts mean being late for work, less safety and less room for people who use wheelchairs or who have strollers. 

Ten of the largest service cuts are on Scarborough routes where buses are already crowded and commute times to access rapid transit are longer. Many of the routes facing service cuts already experience a high rate of delay. Cutting service and increasing fares pushes riders off the TTC to other ways of getting around and can send our transit system into a downward spiral of future cuts.
