I respectfully disagree with your assessment that police, special constables and fare inspectors do not add to the safety of the TTC. As Chair I receive daily reports of assaults and offences committed against passengers and employees. A disproportionate amount of these offences are committed by people who do not pay their fares. I therefore strongly believe that if you prevent these people from entering the system in the first place you’ré more likely to prevent crimes from
Occurring and problems affecting service. I strongly believe that these services work best when they are combined with the upstream services you’ve laid out above and which I’ve consistently supported as well as the design changes such as better lighting at station s which I have championed.
