"A safe and reliable transit system is essential for people getting to work, school, appointments and home to their families. I support a balanced approach to improving safety that includes appropriate security and enforcement, better-trained staff, effective non-police responses to mental health and substance-use crises, clean and well-maintained stations, reliable service, and strong coordination between the TTC, police and community-based supports. If we want more people to take the TTC, riders need confidence that the TTC is safe, dependable and there for them when they need it."
