Executive Committee on March 21: Save Our Subway!

/>

Toronto City Council voted on February 26th to delay an urgent motion to defend our public transit system from being taken over by the province. The province's plan will be a disaster for our city. Breaking up our integrated system will delay the transit we need, let our system fall into disrepair, and pave the way to higher subway fares and less accountability.

March 21: Executive Committee Meeting

RSVP or share on Facebook Thursday March 21st 9am at City Hall Help us pack the March 21st Executive Committee meeting to encourage Councillors to Save Our Subway! It is critical that Executive Committee takes leadership and the next step in defending our transit system.

Here's how your Councillor voted:

City Council has already voted in support of keeping the TTC in Toronto's hands. Now we need our councillors to take the next step. If City Council approves the "Save Our Subway" motion, they'll launch public consultations and an information campaign in stations, buses, and subways that will reach the TTC's 1.7 million transit riders. It's exactly what we need to defend our subway. Read the "Save Our Subway" motion here

📸 Rally to Open the Crosstown

On February 19, 2025, TTCriders held the Rally to Open the Crosstown at Yonge and Eglinton to call for answers about the Eglinton Crosstown and Finch West LRT projects. Promised opening dates for the LRTs have come and gone, while transit costs have skyrocketed under Metrolinx. Transit riders are looking for answers and credible opening dates for the Eglinton Crosstown and Finch West LRTs.
TTCriders asked every party to invest in running TTC service and new LRTs with a 50% operating subsidy for local transit systems, and to give the TTC back control over running Toronto transit, to keep costs down and increase accountability.
