We're marching for public transit on July 5 as part of a global movement for Jobs, Justice and the Climate

This July, Toronto will host a Pan American Climate Summit and an Economic Summit, where corporate leaders from across the Americas will gather to advance an economic austerity agenda that is increasing inequality and killing

the planet.

On the eve of those summits, let’s make sure they hear our demands:  a justice-based transition to a new energy economy, in which corporate polluters pay and ordinary people benefit.

An unprecedented coalition of Indigenous frontline communities, the labour movement, social justice organizations, environmental groups, faith communities, scientists, students, and thousands of others will take to the streets of downtown Toronto on Sunday, July 5th to March for Jobs, Justice and the Climate.

This is a game-changing moment for the climate movement in Canada. With another round of international climate negotiations just around the corner, it is crucial for us to tell our leaders that we are ready for real climate action -- and this means funding efficient, accessible, and truly affordable public transit! By marching together with others calling for solutions to climate change, we will demonstrate that we are ready to shift from the volatile, boom-and-bust cycles of a fossil fuel economy to a stable, clean economy that promotes equity, respects Indigenous sovereignty and recognizes the limitations of our climate.

Here are the details:

Letter & Survey: TTC must exchange expired tokens and tickets

Do you still have TTC tokens or paper senior/student tickets or day passes? The TTC has announced that they will stop accepting TTC tokens and paper tickets after December 31, 2024. But the TTC will not be issuing exchanges. This is unfair to people who have saved up tokens and tickets, especially low-income seniors. Gift cards and permanent stamps never expire --  why are transit fares any different?
