TTCriders welcomes Andrew Pulsifer as next Executive Director

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Toronto, ON) – Membership-based transit advocacy organization TTCriders is announcing a change of leadership. The TTCriders Board of Directors released the following statement about the hiring of Andrew Pulsifer as Executive Director.

“TTCriders is thrilled to welcome Andrew Pulsifer as our next Executive Director. As a lifelong transit user, Andrew is excited to continue growing the organization into an unstoppable voice for riders and—advocating to make transit fairer, more reliable, and accessible for all. Andrew is a well-respected and progressive leader with deep fundraising and campaigning expertise. He has led teams that raised millions of dollars in his previous roles at the Ontario NDP and as Fundraising Director for Olivia Chow’s mayoral campaign, and he has run successful electoral campaigns for progressive candidates. He also understands how City Hall works, thanks to his most recent role as Constituency Affairs and Outreach Officer in the Mayor’s office.

We thank outgoing director Shelagh Pizey-Allen for her service and wish her the best with her next endeavours. Shelagh has mobilized a new generation of transit advocates across Toronto. Some of Shelagh’s accomplishments include winning funding for a Scarborough busway in the decommissioned Scarborough RT corridor, securing commitments from TTC Board members to protect door-to-door service for Wheel-Trans users, and stopping Doug Ford from taking over Toronto’s subway system in 2019. She has increased accountability for riders by shining a light on issues like bus bunching and TTC service metrics, put maintenance and the Scarborough RT derailment on the agenda of Toronto's Auditor General, and highlighted the need for long-term transit funding from all levels of government.”
