"The TTC should remain publicly owned, locally accountable and focused on the needs of Toronto riders. I will defend the City and TTC Board’s authority over local fares, service and operations while continuing to work with provincial and federal partners on regional fare integration and sustainable funding. Toronto cannot build a reliable transit system through repeated fare increases or property taxes alone. Other orders of government must contribute predictable operating and capital funding so the TTC can improve service, address its repair backlog and keep fares affordable."
