Affordability consistently ranks as the third most important factor for taking transit after reliability and safety. As TTC Chair, I’ve proudly overseen three TTC budgets with no fare increases. This was only possible due to the support of Mayor Chow and the City. In the event that a different mayor is elected it will be difficult if not impossible to maintain a fare freeze unless they provide similar levels of funding. I would oppose any reductions in service or compromises on safety. As Chair and a councillor my priority is to make sure people can rely on the TTC and feel safe while using it.
