Stuck on the bus: Toronto's 2024 budget offers no relief for Scarborough’s weary commuters

There's no money to build a dedicate busway to help speed the commute for Scarborough residents.

Mattea Nowakowsi rides three buses to get to her high school from her home in Scarborough. It takes around an hour on a good day. But she often has to wait for several buses to pass before there is one with enough space.

“There have been times when I’ll be super late and my bus won’t come for like an hour,” she said.
