Here's the best way to make Toronto and the TTC more affordable for those who need it most

Herman Rosenfeld and myself - that be Jessica Bell - went down to City Hall and responded to the City's anti-poverty strategy, which went to the executive committee meeting on June 30.  The purpose of the anti-poverty strategy is to tackle inequality in our city and make it a fairer place to live. Now the anti-poverty strategy goes to City Hall for a vote on July 7.

Read Herman's deputation.

Read Jessica's deputation.

Read Commitment to Community's position on improving transit to address poverty.  We played a big role in writing this sucker.

Read the city's anti-poverty strategy.

In short, we want:

- real, meaningful, proactive solutions - more TTC service - a reversal of the planned 2% cut to the TTC's budget - $1 tokens for low income riders - free TTC to ODSP and OW recipients

Contact your councillor at 311 and ask for more service and lower fares to be included in the city's anti-poverty strategy.
