On July 18th TTCriders released The State of Public Transit in Torontoour first-ever report card evaluating the TTC’s performance. It concluded that transit expansion is getting back on track, but fares are going up while transit service is going down.

The report card received excellent coverage by major media outlets and succeeded in getting public transit decision makers to listen and respond (See below).

We need your support to continue having successes and impacts like this.

Please donate to TTCriders!

This kind of success is only possible through persistence, being active at Council and TTC meetings, and working on the ground in our communities.

It’s now crucial that we ramp up our work for more and better public transit in Toronto. While the Toronto Transit Commission has made some improvements, it’s clear that fundamental issues remain unaddressed. Without sustainable TTC funding, public transit in Toronto will continue to be inadequate. Without real leadership on public transit by our elected officials, TTC riders will continue to suffer and have to pay more money for less service. This situation must change!

TTCriders works on your behalf to make certain that your concerns are heard. We can only do this work with your financial support. Every dollar we receive goes a long way toward creating our next report or ensuring transit riders are represented at Council and TTC meetings.

With your help we will continue to speak up for public transit with City Councillors and key decision makers. Let’s keep public transit on track!

Please give today!
