On July 18th TTCriders released The State of Public Transit in Toronto, our first-ever report card evaluating the TTC’s performance. It concluded that transit expansion is getting back on track, but fares are going up while transit service is going down.
We need your support to continue having successes and impacts like this.
This kind of success is only possible through persistence, being active at Council and TTC meetings, and working on the ground in our communities.
It’s now crucial that we ramp up our work for more and better public transit in Toronto. While the Toronto Transit Commission has made some improvements, it’s clear that fundamental issues remain unaddressed. Without sustainable TTC funding, public transit in Toronto will continue to be inadequate. Without real leadership on public transit by our elected officials, TTC riders will continue to suffer and have to pay more money for less service. This situation must change!
